Wonderful!

Fantastic service from Magnus & Alberta from Denmark! If they could have done more to make our stay better they would have done. Such a great attitude. Beautiful field with trees on every side enclosing it, so it felt tucked away. Absence of tents in centre gave a feeling of space & plenty of room to frisbee etc. So atmospheric at night with lit fire baskets all around. Great shower block and washing-up stations. Not overpriced because free admission to grounds & house and free parking. Were able to choose where to pitch. If rain likely then pitch on shower block side of field in September because first side to get sun to dry tent before 10 am departure. On entry to estate go down driveway and where it bends right towards carpark there is a sign for Embers and a set of gates. Follow instructions on gates to phone site. They will open and can then drive in. Gates open automatically when driving out to repark. Understandable to restrict cars between 10 am & 5 pm because of walkers visiting estate. Beautiful 10 minute walk from gates to site with avenue of trees. Especially view at night of distant city lights on left a bit before site is reached. Would love to return to explore estate more, as only had 2 nights. Enjoy!

Perfect for toddlers that want to RUN

We glamped- pre-pitched 5m bell; was wonderful to arrive and pre-ordered pizzas meant hot food at 830pm when we got in. Fantastic. The guys that run it are WONDERFUL. There is access to the woods behind the field where DEN BUILDING WITH DAD happened, CAMPFIRE BASKETS on each pitch, wood ad kindling available to buy, BREAKFASST BACON BAPS available to buy, outside the front gate is the very cute Bentley motor museum and wildfowl centre and tea shop for cream teas and ice creams, and it also has a few climbig frames, 2 giant trampolines and a miniature railway. PERFECT for a 3 day stay with very little ones, but kids up to 12 seemed to have a riot.

If you don't like kids, please don't worry, the field is MASSIVE and each pitch is spaced generously but this place is a god-send for cramped families that need a bit of space to run and jump. Even had my first drink by the fire in 2 years.

Wet weekend saved by Management!

Lovely campsite with the best wash house I have ever used only outdone by Mike&Robins fantastic attitude and focus on every detail. Will never forget Robins huge smile when I asked her to open up her catering van in the pouring rain to cook breakfast for us (delicious)Robin you are a hero and you have literally set the bar. Bravo

Fab weekend

Just back from another fab weekend at embers bentley.  The couple running the site were brilliant by the way, couldn't be more helpful.  Can we book again for next year, which will be our 4th year in a row!

Great Campsite

We had a great weekend at Embers Bentley! The site is big, well maintained, campers were spread out around the site so we didn't feel on top of each other. We could drive to our pitch, unload and then park the car off site so there was plenty of space for the kids to play in the middle of the field without cars driving around. Water was hot, showers were clean, sinks were constantly cleaned. There weren't any queues for washing up or showers, which was great! The owners were super friendly and helpful. They were always around, cleaning and chatting while they worked. The pizza were great too! What a treat. We will be back!

Wonderful campsite

There was a campsite that would have been a little closer to the centre of Henley, however looking at the Embers website made me sure this would be worth the extra walk – I was right, it was! We arrived late in the day, having kayaked down the river from Reading then walked from the town centre – my children and I were shattered and needed a decent shower and a good night’s sleep. Alex had texted earlier in the afternoon to ascertain our arrival time, and even though it was going to be later than her working hours, she waited and greeted us with a smile and made sure we were settled in a pitch of our choosing, with a log fire at the ready, she even gave us some of her own marshmallows to toast – a small gift, but really made our evening! The site itself is beautiful – set in large grounds, surrounded by trees and sheep, with the river at the bottom of the field. Pitches are far apart with plenty of space in the middle for games. I thoroughly enjoyed the camp showers (hot, powerful and no silly button to keep on pressing), they are housed in wooden shacks so give you a sense of being semi outdoors. The loos and showers are all kept beautifully clean. We peeked into one of the bell tents – these are lovely as they are all brand new. The walk into Henley is beautiful, you travel along the river and through fields, it only takes 25 mins. This is a wonderful campsite, one of the nicest we’ve been to (and we camp a lot), we look forward to returning next year.
