Embers Bentley was one of our original sites and it’s no surprise campers return year after year to experience its magic. It offers a stunning mix of inspiring outdoor activities nearby and the perfect venue to kick back and relax.
The acres of space on our site will suit anyone who just wants to put their feet up, toast some marshmallows and enjoy our best-in-class facilities; and on the doorstep of the beautiful South Downs and the Seven Sisters Country Park, which overlooks the South Coast, offering so much to see and do.
And with a private campfire at each pitch, you'll be all set for magical evenings with family and friends.
We want you to enjoy your stay at Embers just as nature intended, but that doesn’t mean going without clean facilities! Our oak-framed washroom at our Embers Bentley site will provide all the home comforts you will need whilst camping. All of our bathrooms are clean and spacious, with underfloor heating and all of our showers are piping hot!
With wide open spaces on site, you will have endless opportunities to take advantage for a quick game of family footy!
Just a few miles south of our campsite you’ll find the iconic South Downs National Park, offering a landscape as diverse as it is breath-taking. Views over the countryside, ancient woodland, valleys and classic English seaside are all on offer in an area of outstanding natural beauty.
Why not hike or hire a bike to ride along The South Downs Way, just 9 miles from the campsite; you can hike along the seaside on the South Downs Way or take your mountain bike on a trail with timeless views. Maybe even take a refreshing swim in the sea at Seaford or Birling Gap Beach.
The Seven Sisters Country Park lies within the National Park, boasting chalk cliff hikes and swimming beaches, making it one of Britain's finest unspoilt coastlines and a must-see while you’re with us.
Or how about canoeing in the Cuckmere River, a fabulous family day-out just 15 miles from the Embers site? You can hire equipment from £12 per hour or feel free to bring your own.
The crooked Georgian dwellings of Lewes are also just a few miles away, straddling the River Ouse as it carves through the South Downs National Park. To the east can be found the historic sites of Battle, Hastings and Herstmonceux Castle.
The Anchor Inn is a gem, a country pub located on the river Ouse in Sussex. They offer kayaking on the river and a good pub menu - we'd suggest you book and arrive early as it does get busy during the summer months. Just 7 miles away from our campsite, it’s well worth a visit.
Here at Embers we try to provide everything you might need to make your stay an authentic and comfortable one.
Be sure to feast on our freshly made wood-fired pizzas during your stay: keep an eye out for an email about 1 week before your arrival, as we’ll send out arrival instructions and a link to follow where you can pre-order pizzas for your upcoming stay (and because we do need to have a daily minimum and maximum pizza order number, it's a must to pre-order, and there may unfortunately be some evenings when pizzas aren’t available).
Our on-site shop provides hot drinks and bacon sandwiches, as well as camping essentials such as milk, fresh bread and snacks. We’ve also got a fantastic ice cream freezer selling local ice cream in scoops and cones. We promise you won’t go hungry during your stay.
We are located at the Bentley Estate, just outside the historic town of Lewes, the South Downs National Park and the Sussex Coast. The post code for the campsite is BN8 5AF, which gets you to Harvey's Lane - please keep a keen look out for the main gates.See More Info
