FAQS regarding Covid-19 and our sites


To our loyal customers,

Firstly, thank you for your continued support and patience as the Embers Camping team have navigated their way through these unprecedented times.

Over the past few months the world has changed. Our small but dedicated team has and continues to work extremely hard trying to keep all of our customers and staff up to date with the impact that coronavirus would have on us.

We’ve worked up multiple scenarios and every day those scenarios have changed. Every day we have reacted as best we can, as we’ve tried to keep pace with the changing advice in order to ensure we remain on top of the economic situation, as well as most importantly, ensuring we do everything in our power to keep everyone safe and do our bit for the health of the wider public and the national effort to fight coronavirus.

Our team has been working hard to ensure our sites are safe and ready for your stay and detailed information on what we are doing can be found below.

what are you doing to increase hygiene on site?

We take great pride in already maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness and hygiene on our sites. Given the effects of COVID-19, we have taken additional measures on our sites to make our cleaning and hygiene protocols even more rigorous including placing Hand Sanitiser stations in higher traffic areas around the campsite.

Our Site teams will receive ongoing briefings and training protocols, and we will increase the frequency of cleaning our communal areas (including shops, door handles, bathrooms, etc.) continuing the use of high-grade disinfectants and sanitisers.

what social distancing measures are you putting in place?

Due to our large site layout and generous pitch sizes of 10m apart, our sites are already perfectly set up for social distancing measures in wide open spaces, so you can relax by your tent in peace and play safely on site. All of our pitches are are clearly marked out and we have also put additional queuing systems in place outside communal areas such as shops and toilets and will ask everyone to queue at a safe distance of two metres apart.

how are you ensuring food and drinks on site are safe?

Government and scientific advice is that it is very unlikely that you can catch coronavirus from food or packaging as COVID-19 is a respiratory illness. It is not known to be transmitted by exposure to food or food packaging. Although it is very unlikely that coronavirus is transmitted through food, Embers Camping will continue to follow our high standards of hygiene practices.

i have a booking due to arrive before 4th July, what do i do?

Emails have been sent to all bookings due to arrive before 4th July 2020 with further details and options. Don't worry if you can't find this email, contact one of our team on and they'll be able to help.

what will happen if my booking needs to be cancelled?

You can now make a booking with us arriving on or after 4th July 2020. There is currently no reason to believe that bookings after this date will need to be cancelled. If in the very small chance there is If any future Government advice means that our campsites will be closed at the time of your booking, you will be offered a deferment to a date later in the 2020 or 2021 seasons.
